Connection issue with Capital One

The third-party app connection between our bank data provider, Plaid, and Capital One has been a long-standing issue. While this may look like a technical issue, it is not. Plaid continues to push for negotiations and is encouraging them to restore the lost connection to Harness immediately.

If you’re a Capital One customer, we want you to know that we hear you. We understand that you are frustrated, because we are too. We rely on Plaid to securely link your bank accounts to various financial apps and tools to help you manage your money. Plaid is one of the most recognized companies in this space and operates across the US and Canada, providing secure bank data connections to over 15,000 banks and connecting to over 200 million consumer accounts.

Plaid is pushing Capital One to restore the connection to protect your ability to use Harness, and any other apps or services that depend on having access to financial data. However, as of now, Capital One continues to prevent easy and secure access to your data, which goes against open banking.

Reach out to them on social media, email or phone calls to let them know you need access to your financial data asap.

The money in your bank account belongs to you, and we believe your data does too. Harness supports open banking and is a member of the Consumer Financial Data Rights organization to take a stand in protecting your financial data freedom against banks who could block your access to the tools you use every day to manage your finances.

To learn more, contact Plaid ([email protected]). Thank you for your continued patience as this gets resolved.
